Kevin McCarthy Is Not Fit To Serve

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy last week granted Fox News’ Tucker Carlson exclusive access to over 40,000 hours of security footage from the January 6th insurrection. Same Carlson who produced a three-part series called Patriot Purge in which he claims, without a shred of evidence, it wasn’t Donald Trump who incited the deadly insurrection but rather his opponents including antifa, the FBI and others in the intelligence community. And that the coup attempt was a “false flag” operation aimed at discrediting the MAGAs.

Democrats quickly called McCarthy’s decision deeply irresponsible, warning that it poses a grave danger to the Capitol and those in it because the footage includes highly sensitive details like escape routes, security camera angles and other logistics.

You can be sure Carlson’s gonna put the footage through a selective editing process to further his unfounded conspiracies, throwing more red MAGA meat to the crazies. But this is a very politically risky move because pouring more gas on an already blazing Big Lie could upset even further the already turned-off moderate Republicans and independents and bite the GOP in the ass big-time in ‘24.

Because anyone with even half a brain and an ounce of patriotism knows ‘what happened’ on January 6, 2021. Because they saw it with their own eyes. Because they witnessed in horror and…
