WTF Is Wrong With Trump Supporters?

He Actually Could Shoot Someone And They’d Say “That Baby Deserved It!”

So Tuesday came and went without Donald Trump’s arrest or indictment. And no “illegal leak” in Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s office as he claimed last Saturday. So once again, there was zero truth in a Trump Truth Social post. Trump was, as always, simply full of shit. (Although he did use this lie to raise $1.5-million in just the first 3 days after his warning).

Almost immediately following Trump’s post, his Chief Ass-Kisser Kevin McCarthy promised in a Tweet to unleash his Deputy Dog Jim Jordan and other House Committee chairman to investigate Bragg simply for doing his job in upholding the rule of law. The same rule of law McCarthy took an oath to defend. And this week he kept that promise, using his Speakership to obstruct justice and intimidate Bragg.

But Bragg wasn’t having any of it. He told Jordan and top Republicans to basically fuck off in response to their demand he appear as part of what he called “an unprecedented inquiry into a pending local prosecution”.

In vomitous fealty to Trump, Republicans claim the Stormy Daniels hush money case is a “bookkeeping error”. A mere misdemeanor. A waste of time and taxpayer money, and an abuse of the DA’s office. But they had absolutely no issue at all throwing Michael Cohen in prison four years ago over this same “misdemeanor.”

Things took an even uglier turn this past week as Trump amped up his anti-Semitic, racist, violence-inciting rhetoric, referring to Bragg as a “degenerate psychopath” and a “Soros-backed animal”, and warned of “death and destruction” if he’s indicted in New York.

And in an even more vile, dangerous act of inciting violence, Trump posted an image of him holding a baseball bat as he stood behind an image of Bragg, seemingly getting ready to bash in the DA’s skull.

No surprise then that Bragg received a written death threat today accompanied by a mysterious white powder. He was warned, “ALVIN: I AM GOING TO KILL YOU” followed by 13 exclamation points.

Conventional wisdom would suggest Republicans would’ve dumped Trump by now because he’s twice-impeached, under massive investigation, on the verge of being criminally indicted and has cost them everything these past 6 years. And because, well, ya know, he’s a fucking sociopath. But everything these past eight years with Trump has utterly defied conventional wisdom.

Instead, the GOP’s dug in even deeper. New polling shows Trump’s blown past DeSantis; he’s now popular with 40% of the base; and the party’s unfathomably hitched its wagon to him yet again.

No matter how much he lies, cheats, steals, creates chaos and poses an existential threat to our Democracy they keep worshiping and protecting him even though he gives zero fucks about them and returns not even a shred of loyalty.

Why? Because Trump is crack. And Republicans simply cannot get off the pipe.
